The Department of Mass communication Hassan Usman Katsina gets a new head of department.
The new H. O. D Mal. Bashir Abdullahi Lawal took over from Dr. Mukhtar El kassim who held the post for the last three years as the head of Mass Communication Department, HUK Polytechnics.
Lawal bags his B.A Mass Communication in Bayaro University Kano (B.U.K) and his master’s degree at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh.
Prior to his appointment, Bashir Lawal was a Principal Lecturer, and held several positions which include the SIWES Coordinator, National Diploma Program coordinator and Higher National Diploma. The new Mass Communication also worked under the Examination Office in the Department.
In an interview with campus press, the new head of department said “ I see an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the progress of the department.
He however solicited the support and cooperation of the entire staff and students of the department. “ I can’t work alone; i need a helping hands whom are my staff and students.
