Business: Masari shuts down some Katsina highways, livestock markets.

As part of measures to curb the menance of insecurity in the state, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has ordered the immediate shutting down of some major Katsina highways and livestock market to tame activities of bandits and other crimes in the state.

Governor Masari gave the order in a Security Challenges (containment) order he personally signed and was made available to journalists.

The highways shut down include Jibia-Gurbin Baure road and Kankara-Sheme roads linking to Zamfara State in which travelers playing the roads are advice to use Funtua road which immediate effect from Tuesday 31st Aughust 2021.

The order also shaped business activities in the state which led to the Suspension of the sale of all animals at the markets of some Local Government Areas in the State to include Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Malumfashi, Charanchi, Mai’Adua, Kafur, Faskari, Sabuwa, Baure, Dutsinma and Kaita.

Reports from the Guardian shows that the order also led to the banning of transportation of cattle trucks from Katsina State to any state in Nigeria and also tantamount of restricting three persons or more than three passengers on motorcycle and tricycle respectively. Ban on sale of second hand motorcycles in Charanchi market.

In a similar view, Only 2 designated filing stations are allowed to sell fuel of not more than N5,000 to motorists in Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Musawa, Matazu, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Danja as well as Kafur respectively.

It could be recalled that bandits have been tororisng the state which led to the downfall of business activities in the Frontline areas.
