In its effort to provide conducive atmosphere for newly recruited staff of the polytechnic, College of Liberal Studies under the leadership of Malam Yahaya Danladi organizes induction and orientation for the new staff.
Part of the event was a tour aimed at familiarizing with key units and personnel of the institutition. During the tour, the college Director and chairman of orientation committee of the college, Malam Abdullahi Maude and other members of the committee visits key units in the institution.
The units visited were office of the Director works and services, office the chief security, the school clinic, the Library and office of the Director ICT.
While welcoming the guests, the Director of works and services, represented by the Estate Manager said the main function of the department is to handle the capital project of the polytechnic and maintenance of all infrastructure.
He also explain the functions of units under works and service, like transportation unit which is in charge of vehicles, electrical unit which is in charge of the electricity of the polytechnic as well as plumbing unit.
Furthermore, the college introduced the newly staff, the chief security of the polytechnic. The chief security was represented by his assistant.
The representative of the chief security welcome the newly recruited staffs to the polytechnic and told them the effect of the work the security men have Been doing lately, and also asked the newly recruited staff to collect the phone numbers of the security men in their department to enable them report any act of insecurity problems in the department.
They also visited the polytechnic Librarian who was represented by the chief Liberian addressed the newly recruited staff of the college and told them the functions of the library.
According to the chief Liberian, staff are free to borrow text books from the library with condition that it will not exceed one month.
He further explained to them the rules and regulations of the library, like drinking of water, eating of food, smoking and noise making is not allowed in the library.
The college in a tour also visited the polytechnic clinic to introduce the newly recruited staff to the Medical Director and staff of the clinic.
Issues related to access to medical care and first aid were discussed at the clinic after which the entourage were conducted round the clinic.
She further advised them to register with the clinic to enable them have access to the clinic.
Finally, in the tour the college visited the director of ICT, He welcomed and congratulated the newly recruited staff of the college.
He spoke atlenght on procedure to be followed to obtain institutional email and user account to enable the new staff have access to the polytechnic Wi-Fi.
The tour ended at the office of the Director College of Liberal studies Malam Yahaya Danladi with a brief session. The Director call on the new staff to be law abiding inculcate good moral on the students.
The college induction and orientation committee chairman Malam Abdullahi Maude spoke at length on the delivering justice in the course their duty as lecturers, technologists and other teaching staff. He also urge the new staff to have the fear of God and be punctual, responsible for them to be role model to their students.
