A commercial maize farmer in katsina state, Bala Magaji has said that insecurity is fueling the high cost of food because some farmers in the north are now living as internally displaced persons.
In addition, Bala Magaji said for the first time in history a bag of maize has gone over twenty three thousand naira because farmers cannot access their farms due to banditry and kidnapping.
Meanwhile, he called on the government to provide security personnel to fight insurgency in the country thereby improving agricultural products.
