The 1st semester examination of the 2020/2021 academic session of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic is fast approaching and the newly admitted students were today oriented on the examination conduct.
This took place at the orientation ceremony organized by the college of liberal studies at the new entrepreneurship hall of the school.The event kicked off with an opening prayer by Malam Galadanchi from General studies department.
The college director, Yahaya Danladi welcomed everyone present and further introduced the head of departments of the five departments that made up college of liberal studies. Which include Department of general studies, Mass communication, library and information science, Basic and Applied science and the department of Remedial studies.
Speaking during the event the then HOD mass comm now the SA on higher education to the Governor katsina state Dr. Bishir Rwangodiya gave a brief lecture to the student which he tagged Life and time as precious gift to human existence.
According to him time is use during your life time on earth as them as student should use the opportunity of being in the polytechnic to do the right thing at the right time and in the right place.
Further more, he urge the student to always attend lecture and have at least 80% of attendance in order to per take in the semester examination as examination equals to attendance to lecture.
Speaking further, he adviced them to shun examinational malpractice, cultism,misconduct, and social media as they are distractions to main purpose of being in school.
In a similar development, the Deputy Rector Dr Aminu while speaking during the event salute the effort of the college of liberal studies for organizing the event, congratulate the student for securing admission into the institution and advised them to read the student handbook which will serve as guide to their conduct in the school.
He also urge them to sit tight and read hard to get a good grade in this first semester result in order to survive any academic casualties in the subsequent semesters. And urge them to always exhibit good behavior and be good ambassadors of Hassan Usman Katsina polytechnic.
