FUEL SUBSIDY AND THE LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS.

An entrepreneur Malam Isyaku Musa located behind Kayalwa Primary School Kofar Bai Katsina, that sells vegetables for cooking in an interview on Saturday 26th August 2023,has expressed his discomfort on the fuel subsidy removal by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu .

He stated that removal of fuel subsidy has affected their business in one way or the other,he sighted example with cabbage that they normally buy from Zaria before the removal of the subsidy, where each sack of cabbage was transported from Zaria to Katsina at the sum of 500 naira but now, they are paying 2000 for each sack which is double of what they used to pay and this makes them to add the price of their goods in order for them to get profit.

He also added that currently the numbers of people buying the vegetables have now reduced because many of them cannot afford to buy it and this has brought serious problems to the business, when they buy the goods from the people selling in bulk,it takes them long time to sell it to the retailers and some of the vegetables starts getting rotten and this becomes bad for business

Furthermore,Malam Isyaku Musa prays that the government will see the hardship of the people in the country due to the removal of the fuel subsidy and also urge the government to reverse the removal of the subsidy so that the people will have a simple way of living and also have simple way of eating food regularly as it used to be before.
