An accolade of excellence has been given to the student union government body of Hassan Usman Katsina polytechnic 2023/2024 set,by Malam Aminu Kallah Doroh for organizing her very first student week program in the history of the institution.The event which is divided into three segments is held at the campus multipurpose hall, featuring speech contest titled “What next after school?”, sanitation, also cultural and art exhibition.
Speaking at the event the rector Malam Aminu Kallah Doroh, encouraging students that the speech presentation should serve as an eye opener to them, the importance of entrepreneurial skill in order to be able to stand on their own after school. He further stated that he will organize an entrepreneurial skill development in the school.
Furthermore, Mr. Aminu Anas a representative from family health care and development was also present to inform the students about the merit of soft skill development. He stated that a soft skill development workshop will be held at the institution in the not too distance future.
The S.U.G. president, Abdulmajeed Gambo Danbaba said in an interview, the event is to serve as an avenue for students to showcase their talents and build their confidence in public speaking. Also the sanitation is to keep the school environment dirt free, and to showcase the beauty of our art and culture. He explained that the achievement of the event was not an easy feat but with team work and determination it was a success.
Also Mr. Gabriel Aktos Issa, a participant in the speech contest representing the college of agricultural science who emerge victorious, appreciate the S.U.G body for the opportunity given to him in participating, he also express his gratitude to the institution for permitting such a wonderful event to take place.
Highlights of the event, a spoken word artist, Abdulkarim Sayeed popularly known as Mufti presented a poem titled “ beyond the wall” and the S.U.G president whose presentation was dedicated to the citizens of Katsina state.
