Basketball competition between Hassan Usman katsina polytechnic and federal college of education students has been approved by the school management. The competition is aimed at creating awareness on basketball and strengthen unity between the students of the two institutions.
This was revealed by the school SUG director, he said that students in Hassan Usman katsina polytechnic all concentrate on football, so by the interschool sport among the two institutions which will take place on the first week of February in the school basketball court, the students will be interested in the sport.
He said the reason for promoting basketball is because the sport has been neglected by the students. The students of the school didn’t really see basketball as a important sport.
One of the players Ridwan Abdulaziz a student of electrical engineering who was also interviewed said their plan for the sport (basketball) are much. He added that by creating awareness for the sport a lot of people will be interested in the sport. And they also plan to renovate the basketball court.
