Insecurity: Nigeria senate ask PMB to declare bandits as terrorists


The Nigeria national assembly has requested that president muhammadu buhari to declare bandits as terrorists in nigeria.

The motion was jointly sponsored by one of the senate member by senate Gobir Ibrahim Abdullahi which was carried out at the plenary presided by senate president Lawan.


The members of the House on Wednesday called on the muhammudu buhari to declare total war against bandits and other groups of terrorists in Nigeria and eliminate all of them.

senate also demanded the arrest and prosecution of bandits responsible for the lost of lives and properties around the country. They also ordered NEMA and other relevant federal government agencies to take serious action and as well give all necessary supports to the victims which have been affected by this banditry in the north and other parts of the nation.


Senator Abdullahi said that sokoto east, has moved the motion on behalf of other of his 8 colleagues which has raised the alarm at his senatorial district which has now become a state for bandits due to the current crackdown taking place in Zamfara state.

He also pointed out that on Saturday 25th September 2021 some security personnel’s were killed in Gangara and Dama villages by bandits.
The senator Lawan who shown his concern over the issue reiterated the resolve of the nation assembly to appropriate more funds in other to tackle this menace of insecurity in the nation.
