Katsina moves to improve rate of out of school children

A two-day refresher training on the transformation of the education system at the state level have been launched in Katsina state.

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the State Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with TESS projects organized the training held at the Education Resource Center, Katsina Thursday.

Dr Nasiru Dan Zaria,the state Coordinator of TESS projects,in his opening address, explained that,the aim of the project is to reduce the number of out of school children.
According to him,the programme would improve teaching and learning in the schools and strengthen all education policies at the state level.

Dan Zaria said the training is simultaneously holding at the three senatorial zones of Katsina,Daura and Funtua with 784 selected participants.
The participants comprises of Education Secretaries, members of the School Based Management Committees, Headmaster’s and others.

One of the Resource person,Dr Abba Salisu said the participants will be trained on how best to utilize the School Improvement Grants SIG,in their schools.
He called on the participants to focus on the training to achieve the desired goals in the sector for the benefit of all across the state.
