MSAP:MANAGEMENT URGED TRAINEE’S TO BE REGULAR PARTICIPANTS

The Management of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic has charged the final year students to fully participate in the ongoing Mandatory Skill Acquisition Programme (MSAP)

The call was made during the opening of the MSAP Programme which started on Friday 24th September, 2021 at the Polytechnic Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) Which is also managed by the Consultancy Department of the Institution.

The MSAP Programme is a programe provided by the National Board For Technical Education (NBTE) to inculcate the idea of Self Reliability to final year students of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

In Addition, The skill acquisition programme is been offered by the final year students of HND 2, ND2,DIPLOMA 2, as well as NCE 3 Students respectively.

However, the skill acquisition programme covers different aspects of trade which includes, Satellite Installation, Electrical Installation, Carpentry and Joinery, Barbing Saloon, Hair Dressing, Leather and Shoe Making, Tailoring and Fashion Design, Handset Repair, Computer Repair, Soap and Detergent Making, Poultry Farming among other entrepreneurship trades.

In their separate remarkr, Malam Rabe Musa and Abubakar U. Tofa emphasis the need for the trainee’s to pay maximum attentions to what their mentor’s would teach them throughout the period of the programme.

Similarly, In an interview with some of the trainee’s Umar Faruk from HND II Business Administration and Ibrahim Khamis From HND II Accountancy advocated to the School Management to provide standard equipment for the smooth running of the programme.

The Mandatory Skills Acquisition programme is expected to cover six weeks starting from 24th September 2021 to 7th July 2021, in which at the end the programme is expected to yeild a green leaves for the students to be self reliable after their graduation.
