NDLEA warn students of HUK Poly to avoid drug abuse.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Katsina State Command warned students of HUK Poly to avoid drugs abuse and smoking within and outside the school premises.
NDLEA disclosed this during the orientation of newly admitted students organised by the management of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic on 22nd Sept, 2021 at multipurpose hall HUK Poly.
The representative of the NDLEA Mr Femi Peter congratulates and welcome the newly admitted students to tertiary institution.
According Femi, “drugs abuse is the use of illegal drugs or substances in a way they shouldn’t be use”. He also said that ‘drugs abuse or smoking is dangerous to human health.
He further outline some effects of drug abuse on students of tertiary institution, like weakened immune system, lung cancer, brain damage, seizures, stroke, mental confusion, poor academic performance, strained relationship with other students, less time on life obligations due to drug use, caused dropped out of school, lack of interest in studying, liver failure, low concentration span, decline grade and among others.
Femi warned students to keep off from any act of drug abuse or smoking because it is dangerous to human health. He also said that any student cut by the agency in the act of smoking or any related offenses will be charge to court or prison for 21 years.
He advised students to be law abiding citizens, avoid exam malpractice, cultism, smoking, drug abuse and face their primary assignment because they are the leaders of tomorrow.
Finally, he thank the management of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic for the opportunity given to the agency and promised to partner with them at all cost.
