Newly Admitted Students Of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic Warns Against Drugs And Other In-disciplinary Acts

Mallam Sada Iliya from the department of engineering, warn students that the use of drugs and other in-disciplinary acts are not acceptable in the school environment and such acts are punishable by withdrawal.


He gave this speech during the orientation of newly admitted students of College of Liberal studies (C.L.S). He said drugs are harmful substances that are dangerous to our health. Certain drugs can change the structure and inner workings of the brain and with repeated use, they affects a person’s self-control and also interfere with the ability to resist the urge to take the drug.


Meanwhile, he said there are other in disciplinary acts that are not tolerated in the school such as violent demonstration, drunkenness, cultism, assault, weapons, lesbianism, gay and transgender and are punishable even with dismissal.


Therefore, he urges new students to deviate from drug addiction and other misconducts as they are here to learn and not to indulge into bad habits and associations.


He added that students should avoid violence between students in the hotel or within the school promises, and violence among students and lecturers which is also not acceptable.


Malam Iliya in his speech said, students cannot pass without attending classes as any student without 80 percent attendance, will not be allowed to sit for the semester examination.


He adviced students to use social media positively for doing assigment and to source for reading materials. And it should not be used negatively like for Facebook, twitter, whatsapp which consumes most students time making them to lack concentration in their studies.
