Premier League hails Super Eagles Iwobi, Aina, others for reaching AFCON final

Premier League has commended Super Eagles’ players for reaching the final of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after beating South Africa in the semi-final clash.

When Jose Peseiro’s side took the lead in the 65th minute when William Troost-Ekong converted the penalty gained by Victor Osimhen, on Wednesday at stadium.

However, Nigeria, beat South Africa 4-2 in penalties at Stade Bouake in Ivory Coast to book their place in the final against the host country.

Further more, Reacting on its X account on Wednesday night, England’s highest football league celebrated Nigerians plying their trades in the league. Then English Premier League lauded Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina, for starting for Nigeria.

According to Premier League, the Nigeria book their place in the AFCON fina, while Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina all featured in their semi-final win against South Africa.

In addition, Super Eagles will face the hosts, Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire at the Allassane Quattarra Stadium in Abidjan, at 2100 hours WAT on Sunday.
