the head of department,department of mass communication advices all students to be serious with their education during the matriculation of new student held at the multi purposes hall of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic
In an interview with the HOD of the department of mass communication studies, Hassan Usman Katsina polytechnic at the multi purpose hall, Mallam Bashir Abdullah .He said that, Matriculation of newly admitted students is very important because is the day that they will legalize the newly admitted students as part of the institution or system, before the Matriculation, they are considered one leg in and one leg out, but that day,they will be considered part of the system after the Matriculation, Students are given advice on how to conduct themselves so that they can graduate successful.
He also said that, during the Matriculation, the students are given some rules and guidelines to guide them on how to behave,act, like on dressing codes, how to socialize, how to relate with their lectures and even amongst themselves, and that,it is a normal tradition in every institution that, they matriculates their newly admitted students at the beginning of the session to show that, this is end of registration exercise and this is the commencement of the normal lecture.
He added by advising the students in addition to the advises giving to them in the hall by saying” As you lay your bed, so shall you lay on it” that the essence of every Students being in school is to study, so therefore, they should face their books squarely so that, at the end they can come out with flying colors, that normally,he do tell his Students that amongst them, there are ministers, lawyers and many other but they can only achieve that by dedication and commitment, and that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
