THE ORIENTATION AND MATRICUTION OF THE NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS OF HASSAN USMAN KATSINA POLYTECHNIC

Students of Hassan Usman Katsina has been called to avoid examination malpractice and other social vices.

The rector of the polytechnic Dr. Ibrahim Mudi Kurfi made this called during matriculation programme for the newly admitted students for the year 2020/2021 of the college held at the college conference hall.

According to him, the college will not tolerate any wrongdoing from the students and lectures.

Dr. Mudi Kurfi explained that, the management of the college is doing everything possible to provide necessary materials for the development of teaching and learning in the college.

He then acknowledged the efforts and corporation given to the college by state government.

In his remarks, the special adviser on higher education malam Bishir Usman Ruwan Godiya who was represented by permanent secretary of the department Ahmad Kabasiyu congratulated the students for being admitted into the college.

He called on them to be security concious and report any suspicious thing to the college management.

Those in attendance were Mallamawan Katsina district head of Batagarawa Alhaji Dikko Dalhatu, new director of northwest zone office of NBTE Katsina malam Garba Muhammad Nalado among others.

In the meantime, on the day of orientation, papers were presented by some lecturers of the college.

A lecturer of the polytechnic Hajiya Binta Tafashiya who presented a paper, called on students to respect the codes of conduct of the school and cautioned the students against engaging themselves in cultism, theft, vandalising school properties, illegal possession of arms, organising riot, examination malpractice and other school crimes.

According to her, every institution depends on discipline.She also guided students on good dress code and warned them against indecent dressing in the school and even after school hours.

Hajiya Binta urged the students to keep attending lecture punctually to meet the required percentage of writing examination and get opportunity to understand their registered courses.

Another lecturer Sulaiman Iguda presented a paper on the issues of security and new containment orders put by Katsina state government.

He listed some frontline local government areas and recent efforts made by security forces and government in tackling security challenges.
