Sheikh Dr. Munnir Sheikh Jafaru made this call at the maulud meeting while delivering a speech with enlightenment.

At the Maulid event commemorating the birthday of the Messenger of God Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that he organized at his house which located at gidan dawa, katsina town.

Sheikh Dr. Munnir Sheikh Jafar has drawn the attention of the community to embrace the ideology of helping each other in order to get the ease of life we are in and not rely on the Government alone.

But he also called on the Government to keep helping the poors. He said that, the government most signed the many opportunities he has to find a way to ease the situation of the community.

In his speech, the Governor of Katsina State, Mlm Dikko Umar Radda, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari.

He stated that “The government is always ready to participate in the service of the community, especially in matters related to this kind of religious service.

Finally, he thanked the Governor of Katsina State for the cooperation and support given to them so that they can fulfill their responsibilities.

Representative of the Governor, Secretary of the State Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari was accompanied by Malm. Haladu Mai Barkono who is a special assistant to the Governor of Katsina State on secondary schools.Then Alhaji Bishir Dan Gambo, the special assistant to the Governor on Sect, Alhaji Lawal Zubairu, the head of the youth craft training center called Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV).

Police Arrest Man In Connection With Tupac’s Murder

Las Vegas police have arrested a man, Duane’ Keege D’ Davis, concerning the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.

Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. 

The rapper and Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight was on their way to a nightclub when an unidentified gunman fired 14 shots, hitting Shakur four times, ultimately leading to his death days later.

According to the Associated Press, the police arrested Duane Friday morning. Charges are yet to be revealed.

Duane’s arrest comes two months after the Las Vegas police searched his home as “part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation,” NBC reported.

Police reportedly found some items, including a Pokeball USB drive, a black iPhone, two iPads, and a purple Toshiba laptop.

Zoleka Mandela’s Alleged List Of Mourners Not Wanted At Her Burial Surfaces

A granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, Zoleka, allegedly wrote a list of people not allowed at her funeral including her ex-husband and those who sexually abused her.

Zoleka was said to have kept a diary where she wrote down her thoughts and wishes, South African site, Zimoja, reported on Friday.

Before her death, she made a list of over 15 persons she did not want at her funeral.

It read, “I do not want the following people at my funeral or near my dead body.”

The list includes the name of her ex-husband and father of two of her kids, Thierry Bashala, and Leeroy Andie Cana, the father of her last child.

She also listed those she claimed sexually abused her, stating that those on the list with a dot against their names abused her sexually.

It read “FYI: These men sexually abused me!”

She further added to the list those that she is close to, including her sisters, dad, and stepmom.

Zoleka died at the age of 43 on September 25 after a long battle with cancer. 

She was laid to rest on Friday, September 29, in a private burial.

New York Declares State Of Emergency Over Flash Flooding

New York City, on Friday, declared a state of emergency over flash flooding following heavy rainfall, which flooded roads and disrupted subway services.

In an X post, the state governor, Kathy Hochul, advised city residents to remain home.

The post read, “I am declaring a state of emergency across New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley due to the extreme rainfall we’re seeing throughout the region.

Please take steps to stay safe and remember never to attempt to travel on flooded roads.”

She described the situation as “a dangerous, life-threatening storm” in an interview with NY1.

On their X page, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority also advised people to “stay home if you don’t need to travel”.

Two Die, Dozens Injured In England School Bus crash

A 14-year-old schoolgirl and a coach driver were killed in a bus crash in Merseyside, North-West England, on Friday morning.

Daily Mail reports that the school bus was carrying 54 pupils from West Kirby grammar school and Calday Grange grammar school in Merseyside when the bus crashed with a car and flipped onto its side.

Witnesses also claimed that the children were escaping out of the back window after the crash.

The children were taken to an emergency centre where they were medically assessed, 39 have been discharged but the remainder have been taken to hospital for further treatment.

The police further disclosed in a press conference that two of the children were seriously injured and were taken immediately from the scene to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The area manager of Merseyside Fire and Rescue service, Mark Thomas, also mentioned that firefighters worked with emergency services colleagues at scene to stabilise the vehicle and assisted casualties exiting the bus.

Petroleum Minister Inspects Project At Warri Refinery

The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, on Friday inspected the ongoing Quick-Fix Project in the Warri Refinery, Delta State.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited made this known on its X (Twitter) page on Friday.

Photos from the inspection were captioned, “The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has just arrived in Warri Refinery for the 13th Refineries’ Rehabilitation Steering Committee Meeting.

Accompanied by the Group CEO, NNPC Limited, Mr. #MKKyari, the Minister will also inspect work progress on the ongoing Quick-Fix Project in the Refinery.

Army Parades Eight Criminal Suspects, Recovers Weapons

The Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven paraded eight criminal suspects at the Headquarters OPSH in Jos on Friday.

The suspects are allegedly linked to crimes, including the murder of one Dorathy Jonathan, gun manufacturing, gunrunning, attack and burning of Saint Raphael Catholic Church, and the killing of a herder in Kaduna State.

This was disclosed in a statement on the official X handle of the Nigerian Army.

The Media Information Officer, Captain Oya James, said two of the suspects were arrested for the gruesome murder of Dorathy Jonathan at Afana village in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna State.

A wanted gunrunner, Napoleon John, was also arrested and further led troops to a concealed factory where arms of different caliber were sold by another miscreant, Monday Dunia, who confessed to having been in the business for more than five years fueling the crisis in Kaduna and Plateau States.

Two other suspects were arrested for their involvement in the killing of a herder following a reprisal attack by locals over the killing of a farmer in Gora town.

Two suspects, Hassan Mato and Ahmad Khalifa, were arrested for attacking and burning Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Kaduna State, and killing a seminarian, Naaman Ngophe.

The statement further read, “A total of 31 different caliber of weapons were recovered from the suspects including three AK 47 Riffles, five fabricated AK 47 Riffles, one pump action rifle and 10 locally fabricated pistols, eight fabricated revolvers rifle and three locally fabricated sub machine guns.

National Youth Games: Edo Judo Player Wins Gold Despite Arm Injury

A young judo player, Emmanuel Abel, who competed at the ongoing National Youth Games, won the gold medal for team Edo despite an arm injury sustained during the fight.

Abel, who competed in the 35kg category, dislocated his arm during his bout with Katsina’s Goodluck Anthony.

The event was held at the multipurpose hall, Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.

Celebrating Abel on Friday, TeamNigeriaUK, in an Instagram post, shared a photo of the young player writing alongside, “National Youth Games Asaba 2023.

“On a positive note: This is Emmanuel Abel (Edo State). He dislocated his arm during the bout against Goodluck Anthony (Katsina) in the 35kg Judo Boys.
“He still went on to win gold for Edo in the event.”

Katsina Gov Visits IG At Force HQ

The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Lagos Shuts Ladipo Market Over Environmental Offences

The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has sealed the Ladipo market in the Mushin area of the state.

According to the Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the market was “sealed for several environmental offences, including reckless waste disposal, unhygienic premises, and non-payment of waste bills, among others.”

He added that the market would remain closed until the mandatory conditions of redress were met by traders and market stakeholders, adding that it was part of ongoing efforts at instilling compliance in markets around the state.

The Managing Director of Lagos Waste Management Authority, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the closure was expected to allow for a thorough assessment of the environmental impact of the market’s activities and the implementation of necessary remedial measures.

Other markets already sealed under the current campaign of zero-tolerance for environmental infractions include Oyingbo, Alayabiagba, Oke-odo and several plazas around the Tejuosho market.

Sanwo-Olu, Finance Minister Meet To Discuss Economic Growth

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu met with the Minister of Finance, Olawale Edun, in Abuja to discuss economic growth.

According to a video shared by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, the meeting was held on Wednesday and aimed at stabilizing and growing Nigeria’s economy.

“As part of his engagements for the continued development of our State economy, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday visited Olawale Edun, the Minister of Finance, at his office in Abuja.

“Discussions centered primarily around the need to stabilize and grow the economy,” the post read.
